Welcome to my new Disney Blog
My First Blog Post
Some of my fondest childhood memories come from Disney. For as long as I can remember I have had a deep love for Disney movies as well as all of the other magical things the franchise has to offer. Over the past few years especially I have become more invested with Disney which I think stems from feeling an emotional connection to my late grandmother. My grandma was my best friend and we used to always watch classic Disney movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, 101 dalmatians, and others together. After she passed away, Disney became even more valuable to me as it reminded me of the special times we had together. Since then I have tried to connect with Disney as much as I possibly can. I visited the Disney parks numerous times, watched countless Disney movies, and have expressed my creative side by creating Disney related art pieces. Some of the best memories are those you have shared with the people closest to you, and those moments can live on forever even after they’re gone. For me, Disney will forever remain in my heart and will always remind me of the special bond I had with my grandmother.
Hollywood Studios-Disney World
I have been to Disney World numerous times and every time is just as magical as the last. Some may complain about the walking, long lines, and expenses but when I am at Disney World I disregard all negative thoughts and feel an immense amount of happiness. Every park has its own magical qualities that are much different from the last. My favorite park is Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios is the home for my favorite ride, Tower of Terror. If you’re a thrill-seeker like me, you can hop on this ride and be transported into the twilight zone while you are dropped from 199 feet at speeds nearing 40 miles an hour. The ride that comes in at a close second for me is Rockin’ Roller Coaster where you can get in a limo with Aerosmith and race to their concert at about 60 miles per hour. Thrilling roller coasters aren’t the only reason why I love Hollywood Studios so much. It has also become a hotspot for StarWars fans as it immerses you into a new galaxy filled with StarWars themed attractions. You can even create a customizable lightsaber in Galaxy’s Edge and feel like you’re a part of the movies. Hollywood Studios has some of Disney World’s best attractions in my opinion and you can check them out too on your next trip to Disney.
These are some of my favorites at Hollywood Studios, what are yours?
- Rides: Tower of Terror, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash
- Food: Darth Vader Chocolate Cupcake from Backlot Express, Fried Dill Pickles from Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater Restaurant
- Shops: Once Upon a Time, Savi’s Workshop- Handbuilt Lightsabers, Tower Hotel Gifts
Magic Kingdom-Disney World
Magic Kingdom was my grandmother’s favorite park. I think for her, it was nostalgic and reminded her of all the Disney classics. Her favorite ride was It’s a Small World, as she loved the idea of connectivity with every country and she loved the theme song that played while you traveled through the ride. I can’t say it is my favorite ride in Magic Kingdom but I now have a special appreciation for it because she loved it so much. For me, my favorite ride in Magic Kingdom is Space Mountain. As you can tell, I like thrill rides that boost my adrenaline. The Haunted Mansion is also a popular attraction in Magic Kingdom and it’s my favorite to ride at night when things get dark, adding to the eerie feeling the ride gives you. If you’ve never had the chance to visit this park, I would suggest a few things you have to try while you’re there. The number one thing you need to try is a Pineapple Dole Whip which can be found at Aloha Isle. Next, though it isn’t a thrilling ride, the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is sure to make you smile. One final suggestion is that you stay until the end of the night to watch the Firework show at Magic Kingdom, it’s sure to transport you into a world of magic where you can feel like a kid again. Though those are only a few suggestions, there are tons of things to do in this special park, try to do as much as you can and enjoy it as you do!
Animal Kingdom-Disney World
Animal Kingdom is unlike all of the other parks and it is a runner up to Hollywood Studios for me. This is Disney’s zoological theme park where you can see all kinds of animals and aspects of nature. I am a personal fan of Expedition Everest where you are taken through the Himalayas and come in contact with the mountains Yeti. But the park has tons to offer, from the world of Avatar, Pandora(tip: visit Pandora at night where its bioluminescent flora comes to life), to a real-life safari in Africa. Animal Kingdom holds some of my favorite memories with my family. I once rode Dinosaur with my dad and it traumatized my 9-year-old self, but now I ride it with ease every time I revisit Disney. He still loves to tease me about it, and I can’t help but laugh along with him because it seems ridiculous now that I was so terrified of animatronic dinosaurs. As Animal Kingdom is a must-see in my opinion, to avoid the obnoxiously long entrance line, go through the rainforest cafe at the entrance which will take you to the gift shop which then has its own private entrance. This will save you so much time waiting in line so you are able to experience all of the adventures the park has to offer, but shhh it’s a secret. One final tip I can offer you Disney goers is that you should utilize the single rider passes, try not to waste your whole day waiting in line. Though some require you to wait, others offer a single rider pass, take advantage of this! Animal Kingdom has so much to offer and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t spend the majority of your day here.
